Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara (IIIT-V) is established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) , Government Of India under Public Private Partnership (PPP) as Institute of National Importance with a view to develop new knowledge in information technology and to provide manpower of global standards for the information technology industry and to provide for certain other matters connected with such institutions or incidental thereto. The partners in this project are Government Of India, Government of Gujarat, Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute, Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals and Tata Consultancy Services. The Institute was established in the year 2013. At present, IIIT-V is operating from its temporary premises at Government Engineering College (Gandhinagar) till the time its new campus is made operational at Vadodara, Gujarat. The Government of Gujarat has lent support to the Institute by providing 50 acres of land at Dumad, Vadodara and a Academic Block at GEC, GandhinagarRanking

- One needs to take the JEE (Main) exam and either secure at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in Class XII or be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in his/her respective Class XII board examination.
- Admissions are done on the basis of rank in JEE (Main) through JoSAA Counselling and CSAB Special Round.

Cerebro
Cerebro is the Annual Technical Festival of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara held in March. It is entirely organized by the Technical Society of IIIT, Vadodara and serves as a platform for technophiles to showcase their creativity and intelligence. The festival aims to bring together great minds through various activities like technical workshops, events, talks and exhibitions.
The main events of Cerebro 2018 are:
Hired: Do you have what it takes to get hired? Hired is an event which simulates the Job Interview process. The event takes place in three phases which will test the reasoning/logical skills and overall personality of the participant.
Tech-Hunt: Find your way out! The Tech-Hunt is a Technical Treasure Hunt based on the participants’ technical knowledge and ability to apply this knowledge. The event will be a multi stage event with hints for each stage given in the form of a technical glitch, error, anomaly, puzzle etc. This event will hence test the ability to think, analyse and solve a problem in limited time.
Gaming Events : The biggest crowd-pullers of any Technical Fest are its gaming events. A number of single and multi-player games like CS-GO, FIFA and NFS-Most Wanted
